Application performance monitoring and error tracking for every language and framework.
Technical Overview & Architecture
Sentry is the industry-standard error tracking and application performance monitoring (APM) platform used by over 90,000 organizations including Microsoft, GitHub, Discord, and Cloudflare. It captures unhandled exceptions, stack traces, breadcrumbs, user context, and performance traces across every major programming language and framework — JS/Node, Python, Ruby, Go, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Dart, and more. Founded in 2012, Sentry pioneered the "error inbox" model where every unique error is deduplicated, grouped into issues, and triaged in a prioritized queue. Each error issue includes full stack trace, the exact line of code that threw the exception, the git commit that introduced the bug, the user's browser/OS/device context, and a full breadcrumb trail of UI interactions leading up to the crash. Sentry Performance (APM) captures distributed traces across microservices, measures transaction throughput and p95/p99 latencies, and surfaces N+1 database query issues automatically. Sentry Session Replay records video-quality session replays linked directly to the errors they produced, enabling developers to watch exactly what the user did before the crash without reproducing it manually.
